Community, Story Highlight
8 ago 2023
Imagine opening a retail shop in a century-old, restored dairy barn? Ten Mile Table-Supply has turned this fairy-tale vision into reality when they opened their brick-and-mortar a month ago.
Founded in the midst of the pandemic by the passionate couple Minh and Erika, TMT began as an open-air newsstand with pop-up food events and has now grown into a charming shop, collaborating with small brands to offer unique baked goods, coffee, and market treats.
We had the pleasure to interview Erika, owner of TMT, and delve into its mission to help emerging brands flourish, and the power of building a supportive retail community.
Supporting Small Brands and Fostering Growth
Erika and Minh’s passion lies in discovering and supporting creative entrepreneurs and food/beverage enthusiasts. Their retail product selection is a labor of love, focusing on small companies, women-founders, products with a story to tell about a specific time or place, and those that are locally sourced and thoughtfully crafted with sustainability in mind.
TMT is particularly proud to serve and feature local delights such as Vitsky Bakery goods and Krafted Brew Lab coffee, which embody their shared ethos of quality and craftsmanship.
“We are grateful for the positive experiences we've had with the featured products and are always open to offering feedback, such as packaging details or ingredient spotlights, to further enhance the quality and appeal of the items we curate for our cherished customers.”
Best Moments and Best Sellers
In its 1 month existence, TMT has already witnessed heartwarming moments that speak volumes about its impact on the community. From guests singing together during a power outage, to tears of nostalgia upon finding childhood candies, TMT has quickly become a place of joy and connection.
Ten Mile Table-Supply takes pride in its best sellers and customers’ favorite products like Halmi, Treehouse Naturals, and Queens SF, which have not only delighted their customers but also introduced TMT to other talented small makers and producers.
Power of Retail Community
TMT recognizes the power of the retail community in navigating the challenges and rewards of brick-and-mortar shop life. Engaging with local retailers, seeking advice, and sharing experiences, helping each other thrive in challenging environments.
As TMT continues to grow, it will undoubtedly remain a beacon of discovery, delight, and community in the heart of Wassaic, NY.
Erika believes that: Independent retailers are a great way to not only introduce new goods, but also stand behind them and help guests navigate how to use them daily. TMT is about to start a newsletter featuring their favorite goods in recipes sourced from all the shop visitors who are willing to share them! Make sure you stay tuned and subscribe their newsletter!
